We interrupt our regularly scheduled radio silence with some words and photos. I am awful slow on the blog side of things and not particularly better on the Instagram side. In addition to receiving the UK exclusive products of the SUQQU Summer 2016 collection, I received a few more items. These items are available where SUQQU is available (Japan, Bangkok, Taiwan and UK).
In this collection, the brand has mixed things up again but changing the format. They introduced two limited edition Eye & Cheek Color Compact and two limited edition Color Balm Crayons. Ah, I see my depot-crazy pointed stabby tools will need to give it a rest because I'm not sure I have a good solution on how to put these pans into my free-form palettes. *twitch*

First I'd like to show you the crayons. You probably have tried several from other brands. I myself currently own one of the Sisley ones. At a Sephora, I usually go play with the Clinique ones as well. The SUQQU version don't need to be sharpened and can be twisted up and down. The shades are very wearable. No eye-searing brights in these.
EX-01 Suzubeni is a sheer watermelon shade. It is warm and sheer and imparts a slightly shiny sheer wash of color. The pigmentation is fairly light but can layer for a bit more intensity.
EX-02 Tsuyasango is a much more sheerer shade. It is a soft neutral peach shade. My lips is a mauve shade, and Tsuyasango cancels out the mauve tones and appears to be a sheer nude shade.
The nicest part of these crayons is a really lovely formula. I love many of SUQQU lip color formulations. This is the sheerest of the existing range, but has a smooth thin balmy feel without any heavy stickiness. While the color only lasts a scant 2 or so hours, reapplication requires no mirror and is a breeze. It feels more like a lip treatment than a color product.

Now let me show you the Eye and Cheek Color Compacts. Only one applicator comes in this one, as opposed to the usual two in a eye shadow quad. I have to admit, I was a bit befuddled on how to wear them and with what applicators. I was also amazed that SUQQU introduced yet another new formulation. Never ones to rest on their laurels, the blush is a cream to powder formula.

There's a lot of sheen and shimmer going on in this compact, but it is very wearable. Here's swatches:

The upper eye shadow color is a mostly shimmer on my skin. It is a pale cool petal shade. It mostly works its magic when layered over the cool brown satin shade. The swatches show the top pink glitter shade, the satin cool brown shade and then the two layered. I've had no issues with fall out during application and had slight mess of a fallout at the end of the day. The longevity is nice on these shadows.
The blush shades are so pretty in this compact. It's very much a perfect set of pinks. I used my fingers to apply each shade and then to layer the two. The top shade works more as a highlighter on my skin and gives a shimmery effect. I actually had a good few days of trying to figure out what kind of brushes to use to apply, but ultimately found that using my fingers was as good as any. I can control how much pigment is applied and it blends easily too. Eh, maybe fancy brushes are overrated? Anyway, the darker shade is also not very richly pigmented; it would be difficult to over apply the color.

Now EX-02 Natsuyuuka is less confection pink and more dramatic.

I've been wearing these and the UK exclusive products for the past few weeks now and have taking a million photos. Unfortunately, the light has been weak and my sleep deprived face is tough to post on the blog. :D But I was able to cobble up some photos, so more to come.
Do you like these compact type things that have multiple product in them? I kind of like the thought of streamlining when I travel.

Maybe as a concession to those of us with no sense of color coordination abilities, the usual sleek black cases have a band of gold or silver on it as well as a coordinating one for the color crayons. And the crayons do coordinate very nicely in a complimentary manner to the palettes.

In this compact, the upper sheer shimmer shade is a warm taupe and the bottom shade is a deep dirty teal. I love the colors of this one and love how complex it looks when layered.
The warm taupe also has enough pigmentation to stand on its own instead of just to layer, but does look extra gorgeous layered on the dirty teal giving the teal a warmer dimension.
The blush shades complement the sultry shades of the eye shadows well, I think. The light shade is a very sheeny icy peach. The middle shade is a coral with a golden sheen. Layered together the resulting shade is a bit cooler and icy looking. This is fairly lightly pigmented overall. On my NC20 or so skin, I was able to get the shades of appear well, but nothing vibrant no matter how much I slathered with my fingers.
